Vivian Margaret Riley

Vivian Margaret Riley (96) of Shinnston, WV passed away at the home of her daughter on Friday November 10, 2017 after a courageous battle with Alzheimer's disease. She was the last surviving member of her family.

She was born in Fairmont, WV September 22, 1921. Vivian was a loving mother and homemaker. She loved traveling, shopping and spending time with her family.

Vivian was preceded in death by her parents, her beloved husband of 70 years Howard Riley, one son Howard Clay “Dukie” Riley Jr. and several brothers and sisters.

Those left behind to cherish her memory are: her loving daughter and caregiver Nancy Basnett of Shinnston, WV, three granddaughters Kimberely Basnett of Clarksburg, WV, Sherri Stout and husband Frankie of Mt. Clare, WV, and Kerri Basnett of Monongah, WV, two great-granddaughters Hali Hitt and husband Tyler of Hornor, WV, and Isabella Stout, two great-grandsons Chad Anthony Rector and  John Matthew Clutter, two great-great-granddaughters Brynn Hitt and Chesnie Hitt, six nieces Terri Sayre of NC, Vivian Cramer of TX, Joy Podolac and Cathy Kirkendall both of OH, and  Stephanie Sharp and Levenia Swiger both of Shinnston, WV,  one nephew Gene Riley of Fairmont, WV and special niece and nephew and loving caregivers Mary and Tony Orsini of Monongah, WV

Family will receive friends on Sunday November 12, 2017 at Dorsey Funeral Home 701 S. Pike Street, Shinnston, WV, from 4:00pm to 8:00pm. Funeral service will be held Monday November 13, 2017 at 11:00am with Pastor Gene Day officiating.  Interment will follow at the Shinnston Memorial Cemetery in Shinnston, WV.
