Warren Loar Obituary

Warren Douglas Loar, 70, of Haywood, passed away on Wednesday, April 13, 2022 at his residence.  He was born in Clarksburg on August 5, 1951 to the late Warren Glenn Loar and Annabel Ruth (Boring) Loar.

Warren served in the United States Air Force during Vietnam.  He worked at Anchor Hocking for 18 years, until their closure.  He went on to work in the trucking industry for over twenty years.  Warren was a terminal manager for Tri-State Express and a dispatcher for W.S. Thomas Trucking of Fairmont.  He spent retirement volunteering at the Lord’s Pantry in Shinnston, gardening, canning and traveling with friends and family.  Warren made multiple trips to Yellowstone National Park, South Dakota, Wyoming and Alaska.  He and Mary celebrated their 49th and 50th wedding anniversaries in Las Vegas.

Left to cherish fond memories include his wife of over 50 years, Mary Elizabeth (Champ) Loar of Haywood; his son, Douglas Loar and wife Michelle of Haywood; sister, Pamela Marlene Douglas of Sardis; granddaughter, Hannah Loar and two grandsons:  Hunter and Aidan Napier; niece, Valerie Clausson and husband Dave of Clarksburg.

In addition to his parents, Warren is preceded in death by one brother, Charles Edward Loar.

In keeping with his wishes, Warren will be cremated.

A memorial service and dinner will be held for family and friends at 5:00pm at the American Legion in Shinnston, April 23, 2022.  Pastor Tom Edgell will be officiating the service.  All those that cared for Warren and his family are welcome to attend.

Interment will be held a later date at West Virginia National Cemetery.
