Thelma Gertrude Huffman

Thelma Gertrude Huffman, 88 of Port Charlotte, Florida, formerly of Kingwood, WV passed away, June 13, 2013 at Courtyard Assisted Living in Punta Gorda, Florida. She was born July 30, 1924 in Fellowsville, WV, daughter of the late Burton and Delsie Pierce Shahan. Thelma graduated from Fellowsville High School. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Lewis Huffman and also an infant daughter. She is survived by two children, Danny Huffman of Kingwood, WV, and Lana Culver, Port Charlotte, FL; grandchildren, Betty DeVall, Bobby Phillips, Danny Huffman, Randy Phillips, Heather Henson and Melanie LaPlace; great grandchildren, Kimberly Gayhart, Whitney Phillips, Ariel DeVall, Ally DeVall, Kordell Peaslee, Ashlynn Peaslee, Ryder Phillips, Sophie Phillips, Collin Huffman, Isabella Huffman, Kendall Henson, Tristan Henson, Ty Huffman, Chloe Huffman; great great grandchild, Kendall Gayhart, one sister Etheleen Smith, Morgantown, WV. She worked as a coordinator/receptionist for the Preston County Senior Citizens. She enjoyed riding her three wheel bike, doing crafts and word searches. A celebration of life will be held at the Mt. Israel United Methodist Church on Friday, July 26, 2013 at 2:00 pm with Ruth Hall officiating and they will receive friends from 12 noon until time of service. Inurnment will follow at Mt. Israel Cemetery. A covered dish dinner will be held at the Mt. Israel Fellowship Hall following the graveside.
