Susan E. Cottrell, 71, of Lumberport passed away Friday, February 19, 2021 at J.W. Ruby Memorial Hospital. She was born May 3, 1949 near Lumberport on Route 18, the daughter of the late Charles and Edith Taylor Bunnell.
Susan graduated from Victory High School. She began work as a telephone operator at the Harrison County Courthouse. Later she started working at the Continental Can and continued working as it changed to Anchor Hocking, until its closing.
Susan is survived by her husband of fifty-two years, Donald Cottrell, whom she wed on July 6, 1968. She is also survived by two sons, Donnie Cottrell and wife Cindy, Gypsy, WV, and Ronnie Cottrell, Lumberport, WV; two grandsons, Jonathan Cottrell, Gypsy, and Matthew Cottrell, Lumberport; sisters, Noma Kyle and husband Eddie, Gregory’s Run, Donna Booth and husband Howard, North View, Jo Ann Reel, Grafton, and one brother, Rick Taylor, Arkansas.
In addition to her parents, Susan was preceded in death by one brother, Gary Bunnell; and two sisters, Ester Kyle and Mildred Stottlemyer.
