Steven Allen Helms

Steven Allen Helms, 65, of Fairmont, passed away on January 22, 2025 at Morgantown Heights of Journey.  He was born in Clarksburg on July 14, 1959 to the late James Edward Helms and Sharon Elaine (Sprouse) Helms.

He was the manager at Shinn Plaza Laundry. He worked as a laborer, roofer, with asphalt and construction.  Steven was a member of the Oriole Club and loved his family and friends.

Steven is survived by one son, Steve Helms II and companion Amber Kellar of Morgantown; two grandsons:  Gage Helms and Dayton; one granddaughter, Raygan Helms; two sisters:  Judith Perry and Cindy Hannah of Lumberport; two uncles:  Bob Sprouse and wife Linda of Clarksburg and Eddie Sprouse of Clarksburg; one aunt, Carol Lott of Virginia; three nephews:  Harold Perry, James Hannah and Blake Hannah and wife Brandy.

In addition to his parents, Steven is preceded in death by paternal grandparents, Howard and Glada Sprouse; Fay and Mary Helms; five uncles; five aunts and his lifelong companion, Gina McCoy.

In honoring his wishes, he will be cremated with no services.  A memorial service will be held at a later date.

The family would like to give thanks to Morgantown Heights of Journey for the care they provided Steven.
