Roy Curtis Sharp

Roy Curtis Sharp (67) of the Drain Hill area of Shinnston, WV passed away January 13, 2018 at his home surround by his family.

Roy was born April 3, 1950 in Clarksburg, WV the son of the late Junior and Mary (Roberts) Sharp.

Roy retired as a Parking Lot Attendant for the City of Clarksburg after 28 years of service. He loved to read Western stories, work crossword puzzles and was a big fan of Dale Earnhardt and John Wayne.

In addition to his parents Roy was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents George and Victoria Roberts, paternal grandparents Norman and Grace Sharp Leemasters, and mother-in-law and father-in-law Dave and Linda Riley.

Those left behind to cherish his memory are his wife Stephaney “Steve” Riley Sharp, two sons Curtis Sharp of Shinnston, WV, Patrick Riley and wife Wendy of Hopewell, PA, two granddaughters Myah and Amilya Riley, one grandson Kaleb Riley, three sisters Edna Boggs and husband Conley of New Martinsburg, WV, Violet Stout of Hepzibah, WV and Rebecca Ashcraft, three sister-in-laws Vivian Cramer and husband Rick of Eustace, TX, Levenna Swiger of Shinnston, WV and Mary Riley of Meadowbrook, WV, and several uncles, aunts, nephews and nieces.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to the caring staff of Peoples Hospice.

Family will receive friends on Tuesday January 16, 2018 at Dorsey Funeral Home 701 S. Pike Street, Shinnston, WV, from 2:00pm to 8:00pm. A second visitation and funeral services will be held Wednesday January 17, 2018 11:00am to 1:00pm time of service with Garry Layfield officiating. Interment will follow at the Shinnston Memorial Cemetery in Shinnston, WV.
