Raymon "Rick" Kent Douglas

Raymon “Rick” Kent Douglas, 74, of Sardis, passed away on Monday, February 10, 2020 at the Louis A. Johnson VA Medical Center. He was born October 3, 1945 in Clarksburg, WV, the son of the late Alvin Lorenzia and Mary Margaret Chadwell Douglas.

Raymon Graduated from Roosevelt Wilson High School and then attended the West Virginia Business College. He served his country in the United States Navy during the Vietnam War. Raymon worked as an electrician for Anchor Hocking for several years and also as a Boiler Operator for UHC. He was a member of the VFW Post 573 in Clarksburg and the Army National Guard in Salem, WV.  He loved to shoot pool, watch television, play chess, and spend time with his dog Rocky.

Those left behind to cherish Raymon’s memory is wife of 45 years, Pamela Marlene Douglas; one daughter, Valerie N. Clausson and husband Dave of Clarksburg; two sons, Matthew and Mark Douglas both of Ohio; one brother in law, Warren D. Loar and wife Mary of Haywood; one sister in law, Irene Loar of Lumberport; several nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, Raymon is preceded in death by one brother, Alvin Joel Douglas; one sister, Sharon Douglas; one brother in law, Charles E. Loar.

The family will receive friends at Dorsey Funeral Home, 701 South Pike Street, Shinnston, WV 26431, on Sunday, February 16, 2020 from 2:00-8:00PM.  A funeral service will be held at Dorsey Funeral Home, 701 South Pike Street, Shinnston, WV 26431, on Tuesday, February 18, 2020 at 9:00AM with Duane Bartrug officiating.  Internment will follow at the West Virginia National Cemetery where full military honors will be accorded by the Harrison County Honor Guard and the US Navy.
