Pete Joseph Male

Pete “Petie Joe” Joseph Male, age 57, of Lumberport passed away suddenly on June 8, 2019 in Haywood. He was born June 2, 1962 in Fairmont, the son of the late Pete and Nancy (Kendall) Male.

Petie Joe was a laborer at the Department of Highways for over 14 years.  He was an avid hunter and fisherman.  You would often find him off in the woods with his rifle or down by the water with a fishing pole in hand.  Petie Joe also enjoyed riding four wheelers but especially enjoyed riding his Harley Davidson motorcycle.  He was also a huge WVU Mountaineer football fan and hardly ever missed a game.  Petie Joe liked to have a good time and enjoyed life to the fullest but what he loved most was to be surrounded by his family and friends.

Petie Joe is survived by his son, Preston Male of Lumberport; two daughters, Misty Kay Male of Dallas, TX and Precious Dawn Male of Lumberport; one sister, Marjorie Male of Oxnard, CA; one half-sister, Naomi Jean Lemley and her husband, Matt of Hutchinson; one granddaughter, Preslynn Dawn Sampson Male; two nephews, Matthew Lemley and Justin Stonebreaker; three nieces, Katelyn Lemley and MaLissa & Tiffany Sampson; and several cousins.

In addition to his parents, Petie Joe was preceded in death by his infant sister, Nora Ann Male; several aunts, uncles and cousins; and one very special aunt, Catherine Male, affectionately known to her family as “Aunt Kay”, who raised Petie Joe.

The family will receive friends at Dorsey Funeral Home 701 South Pike St., Shinnston, WV 26431, on Tuesday, June 18, 2019, from 11:00 am until the time of Service at 6:00 pm with Pastor Delores White and Pastor Robert Shingleton officiating.  Interment will be held on Wednesday, June 19, 2019 at 11:00 am at the Lumberport Lions Club Cemetery.
