Patricia "Patsy" Rose (Atkins) Benson

Patricia "Patsy" Rose Atkins Benson 73 of Gypsy, WV passed away on Friday, January 04, 2019 at her residence with family by her side.  She was born July 25, 1945 in Richmond, VA, daughter of the late William Glen and Rosa Elizabeth Matze Atkins.  Patsy graduated from Manchester High School and was a homemaker.  Her hobbies were reading, gardening, spending time with family, teaching Sunday school, volunteering for the Lord’s Pantry and Meals on Wheels.  She was a member of the Enterprise United Methodist Church. She is survived by five children, Danny Benson and wife Tina, Gypsy, Barry Benson and wife Debbie, Bridgeport, Terry Benson and wife Tammy, Camden, WV, Donna Stuttler and husband Brian, Lockport, NY; Mark Benson and wife Alyson, Shinnston; fourteen grandchildren, Tiffany, Zach, Parker, Tyler, Ashley, Maryssa, Cody, Andy, Conner, and Collin Benson, Cassie Kesling, Matthew and Laura Stuttler, Karina Faber, ten great grandchildren, Peyton, Sophia, Amelia, Jaxon, Lilly, Dean, Lily, Lucy, Michael and Caden; one brother, Bill Atkins and wife Peggy, Richmond, VA; numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Carl Clyde Benson whom she married on November 17, 1963. The family will receive friends at Dorsey Funeral Home, 701 South Pike St., Shinnston, WV 26431, on Monday, January 7, 2019 from 3-8PM. A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, January 8, 2019 at 10:00AM with Pastor Craig Blankenship, Pastor Brian Plum and Pastor Jonathon Collins officiating Interment will follow at Enterprise I.O.O.F Cemetery.
