Norma E (Walls) Lucas

Norma Elaine (Walls) Lucas, age 83, of Grafton, went to be with the Lord, Monday, June 3, 2013. She was born April 4, 1930, in Grafton, a daughter of the late Howard and Beatrice (Lemmon) Walls. Her husband of 63 years, David F. Lucas, preceded her in death June 15, 2011. Norma was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Grafton. She had worked as a sales clerk at the former Archdeacons, was a bookkeeper for the former Ozite, and a bookkeeper for the former B&O Restaurant, and the abookkeeper for the family farm along with her husband Dave. Norma spent the last days of her life in the loving care of Donna Mayle and family. The Lucas family would like to express their gratitude to Donna, your service and kindness to Norma, and our family, is unsurpassed and will not be forgotten.
Surviving are: five children, Sally Payne, of Grafton, Susan Andrews and husband Lawrence, of Centerville, OH, Robin Reed, David Lucas and wife Lisa, Thomas Lucas and wife Sandy, all of Grafton; ten grandchildren Rebecca Payne, Carrie Freeze, Kimberlee Payne, Nicholas Andrews, Christine Andrews, John Reed and wife Charity, Amy Gutshall and husband Ron, Jason Lucas and wife Heidi, Adam Lucas, and J. J. Jones; fifteen great grandchildren; one sister-in-law, Patricia Walls, of Clarksburg, WV; and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. In addition to her husband she was preceded in death by one brother, Stanley Walls.
Friends may call at Bartlett Funeral Home, 202 McGraw Ave., Grafton, on Thursday, June 6, 2013, from 3-8 PM. Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 AM, Friday, June 7, 2013, at the First Baptist Church of Grafton. Mrs. Lucas will lie in repose at the church from 10AM until the funeral hour. Interment will follow at Bluemont Cemetery.
