Nancy Lou (Parrish) Sandy

Nancy Lou Sandy, 80, of Enterprise, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on January 6, 2023.  She was born December 10, 1942 to the late Charles Parrish and Ada (Gurley) Parrish.

Nancy spent her life in Enterprise.  She was a loving mother, sister and friend.  Nancy was a “homemaker” to three men who would have been lost without her, a “Grandma” to Daniel and all of his friends, a “Nanny” to Eric, Sara, Chris, Ryan and Missy, a “baker” to all pie and candy lovers and a “storyteller” to anyone looking for a laugh and time to sit a spell.  She was quick-witted and feisty ‘til the end.  “Nance” will be missed dearly by her family and friends.  She was a lifetime member of the Enterprise United Methodist Church and for many years, she was the church custodian.  She served as Secretary, Independent Order of Odd Fellows, Enterprise Rebekah Lodge No. 108.

She is survived by two sons:  Paul Sandy and wife Gloria of Enterprise and Russ Sandy and wife Danielle of Lompoc, CA; one grandson, Daniel Sandy of Enterprise; two siblings:  Carol Pierce of Enterprise and Mike Parrish of Clarksburg; three sisters-in-law:  Bobbie Jean Parrish of Shinnston, Joyce Parrish of Clarksburg and Molly Sandy of Enterprise as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, Nancy is preceded in death by her husband, Elwood Sandy; six brothers:  Roger Parrish (her twin), Pete Parrish, Edgar Parrish, Paul Parrish, Victor Parrish and Danny Parrish; three sisters:  Patty Parrish, Jesse Parrish and Shirley Roberts.

The family would like to thank Amedisys Hospice, the Harrison County Lighthouse Program and in particular, Bridget Blake, her caregiver over the past year.

In keeping with her wishes, she will be cremated.

Graveside service will be held on Saturday, April 8, 2023 at 1:00pm at the Enterprise I.O.O.F. Cemetery with Pastor Brian Plum officiating.
