Mary Virginia (Oliverio) Fazalare

Mary Virginia (Oliverio) Fazalare, 95, passed away on Friday, May 21, 2021 at Weirton Medical Center in Weirton, WV.  She had recently moved to Serra Manor Assisted Living facility in Weirton.  

She was born on March 30, 1926 in Viropa, WV, the daughter of Antonio and Teresa Oliverio. 

She graduated from Shinnston High School in 1944.  Mary worked for J.C. Penney Company in downtown Clarksburg for many years, and finished her working career at Wesbanco in Shinnston. 

Mary was a member of St. Ann Catholic Church and its Altar Rosary Society in Shinnston.  Mary worked with a group of church women and men who cooked and baked for spaghetti dinners and events held at the church social hall.  Mary volunteered to deliver Meals-On-Wheels and with other charities in her community for many years. 

Mary is survived by her son, Jim Fazalare and his wife, Marie of Weirton, WV, and her daughter Carolyn Kite and her husband, Dr. Carl, of Wheeling, WV; grandchildren Amy Miller, Dr. Joseph Fazalare (Krysta), Cara Hawkins (Jeremiah), Christopher Kite and Catherine Kite; seven great-grandchildren.  Mary is also survived by many nieces, nephews and cousins.

Mary was preceded in death by her husband, James F. Fazalare, brother Sam Oliverio, sisters Josephine Selario and Victoria Fratto.

Family will receive friends at Dorsey Funeral Home, 701 South Pike Street, Shinnston, WV, on Monday, May 24, 2021 from 4:00pm – 8:00pm. With the Rosary recited at 7:00pm.  Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by Father Chris Turner as Celebrant on Tuesday, May 25, 2021 at 11:00am in St. Ann Catholic Church.  Interment to follow at the Shinnston Memorial Cemetery in Shinnston, WV.
