Martha Alice (Luke) Martin

Martha Alice Martin, 74, of Shinnston, passed away on Wednesday, December 15, 2021, at Mon General Hospital.  She was born November 27, 1947 in Little Bingamon, daughter of the late Kenneth Eugene Luke, Sr. and Julia Darlene (Tucker) Luke.

Martha is survived by her husband of 55 years, Postal Martin; son, Denver E. Martin of Pine Bluff; daughter, Julia E. Martin and fiancé Scott DeLaney of Pine Bluff; granddaughter, Desiree Martin; grandson, Colton E. DeLaney; great granddaughter, Riley Ann Disabatino; sister, Judy D. Martin of Bridgeport and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Kenneth E. Luke, Jr. and sister, Shirley Luke.

Martha was a housewife.  She liked to cook, play bingo, make quilts and go camping.  She loved her church family and church community building. Martha was a member of Pine Bluff United Methodist Church.

Martha received her WV Volunteer Home Leadership 50-year pin from CEOS.

Family will receive friends at Dorsey Funeral Home, 701 S. Pike St., Shinnston, on Sunday, December 19, 2021 from 3:00pm to 8:00pm.  Service will be held on Monday, December 20, 2021 at 11:00am with Pastor Harry “Buzzy” Holbert officiating.  Interment will follow at Pine Bluff Cemetery.
