Mark Allen “Bubby” Holt Sr, 69, of Salem, passed away peacefully on Friday, April 10, 2026, surrounded by the love, comfort, and presence of his family at his mother’s home.
Born on April 5, 1957, in Fairmont, Mark was the beloved son of the late John Thomas “Johnny” Holt Jr. and Nadene Iris Eubank Holt, From an early age, Mark carried a quiet strength and kindness that would define the way he lived his life and loved those around him.
Mark was a proud graduate of Liberty High School, Class of 1975, and later earned his associate degree from the Ohio Institute of Technology. He honorably served his country in the United States Navy, a time in his life he held with pride and respect.
Throughout the years, Mark worked in a variety of roles—including at WBOY, Dairy Mart, Wal-Mart, and in telemarketing—always bringing dedication and a steady work ethic. Beyond his work, Mark found joy in life’s simple pleasures. He was a devoted fan of West Virginia University athletics and the Pittsburgh Steelers, rarely missing a game and always cheering with heart.
A man of faith, Mark was Methodist and attended North View United Methodist Church. His faith and gentle spirit guided him in his role as a husband, father, son, brother, and friend.
Mark’s greatest joy was his family. He is survived by his loving wife of 42 years, Rebecca Jean Jones Holt, whom he married on April 7, 1984—a partnership built on love, loyalty, and shared memories. He also leaves behind his cherished daughter, Ledona Jean Holt, at home; his sister, Beth Ann Lasure of Clarksburg; his brother, John Thomas Holt III of Core; Nadene’s companion, Robert Westfall and several nieces, nephews, aunts and uncles who will remember him fondly.
