Margaret Leona (Perry) Ashcraft, 90, of Haywood Rd., Shinnston, WV, went to be with the Lord on October 14, 2021, at United Hospital Center.
Margaret was born January 23, 1931 at Laura Lee Mines Camp at home. Daughter of the late Glenn and Phyllis (Satterfield) Perry. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Paul William Ashcraft, whom she married on July 24, 1950. They were married 63 years.
Margaret is survived by her two sons, Michael Glenn Ashcraft and wife Vickie and Mark Patrick Ashcraft and one daughter, Pamela Kay Spagnuolo and husband Anthony “Tony” of Shinnston. Grandchildren; Aimee Melissa and Heather Dawn Ashcraft and Anthony Joseph “AJ” Spagnuolo and wife Lanessa. Great grandchildren; Hailey Dawn Bittinger and Justin Zachary Bittinger and Corina Kay Spagnuolo of Shinnston. A sister-in-law, Faith Ashcraft of Clarksburg. Cousins, William Dye of Butler, PA and Judy Wilkinson of Wheeling.
Margaret was a former member of Haywood United Methodist Church and a present member of Lambert’s Run United Methodist Church. She was a graduate of Shinnston High School, class of 1949.
Margaret was employed by Harrison County Board of Education as a cook. She loved to read all books, especially her Bible and anything about West Virginia. She also loved the Hallmark channel and to go on bus trips to the Amish with her daughter, Pam.
Friends will be received on Monday, October 18, 2021, at Dorsey Funeral Home, 701 S. Pike St., Shinnston, WV, from 11:00am to 2:00pm and service to follow, with Reverend Duane Bartrug officiating. Interment will be at Shinnston Memorial Cemetery, Shinnston, WV.
