Leslie "Skip" Eugene Tichenor

Leslie Eugene “Skip” Tichenor, 84, of Shinnston, passed to be with the Lord on Thursday, August 18, 2022.  He was born March 7, 1938 in Shinnston to the late James Eugene Tichenor and Juanita Ellen (Sturm) Tichenor.

Mr. Tichenor served in the US Army’s 187th Airborne Infantry Division from 1957-1960.  He taught 7th grade Geography, Social Studies, WV History and English at Bridgeport Junior High School for 32 years, from 1966-1992.  Mr. Tichenor was a member of the Enterprise United Methodist Church.  He enjoyed mowing grass, hunting and was a very talented artist.

He is survived by his wife, Judith Tichenor of Shinnston; one son, Eric Tichenor of Fairmont; one brother, James Alan “Pete” Tichenor and one half-brother, John Kriletich of FL.

In keeping with his wishes, Mr. Tichenor will be cremated. 

Graveside service will be held at WV National Cemetery on Thursday, September 15, 2022 at 11:00am with Military honors provided by the US Army and Harrison County Honor Guard with Pastor Craig Blankenship officiating.
