Joyce Coburn

Joyce Coburn, 84, of Beverly Hills, Florida, died peacefully in her sleep on May 10, 2013, at her home. Born August 14, 1928, in Englewood, California, she is predeceased by her parents, Joseph and Mary Charves of Garden Grove, California and her son, Bruce Revelle of Orange County, California. Survivors include her beloved husband of 60 years, Harold Coburn, originally of Salem, West Virginia; her two daughters, Cherylyn Brubaker and her husband Thomas of Brunswick, Maine and grandsons, Nicholas and Timothy; and Terri Quinn and her husband Ernest and grandsons, Jeffrey, Kevin and Peter; and her cats: Silver and Twerp. Joyce graduated from George Washington High School, Los Angeles, California in 1946. She and Harold were married in Yuma, Arizona in August, 1952. Joyce was a wonderful mother and homemaker as she and Harold traveled around the country in service to the U. S. Navy. They greatly enjoyed the Officers Club social events everywhere they were stationed as well as the Sub Vets activities after Harold's active service. Following his retirement, they settled for a time in Ledyard, Connecticut where she worked for many years in the town library. She loved her dogs and cats, shopping, sewing, her books, the library and her family and friends. Her constant, happy smile will be a favorite memory. Visitation will be held on Monday, May 20, 2013 from 11:00 a.m. until time of service at 1:00pm at the Greathouse Funeral Home with Reverend Danny Fleming officiating.
