Howard J. Taylor

Howard Junior Taylor, 72 of Clarksburg passed unexpectedly on July 6, 2013 at the Louis A Johnson VA Medical Center. He was born on January 13, 1941 in Rymer, WV, son of the late Howard Franklin and Lilly Myrtle Gill Taylor. He had a long and distinguished career in the United States Army, from which he retired with over 20 years of service in 1978 as a Sergeant First Class. After retirement, he went to work for the Electrolux company, first as a salesman and then as manager of the Fairmont, Clarksburg and Parkersburg branches. He is survived by his wife, Christl Ruth Eckstein Taylor of 43 years; two children, Nora Ruth Taylor, Clarksburg and Dennis Howard Taylor and wife Courtney, Mannington; two grandchildren, Taliah and Lindsey; one brother, Charles Taylor and wife Betty, Mannington. He will be greatly missed by family and friends. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one sister, Melinda Jane Taylor. Family and friends will be received at the Davis Funeral Home, 124 Olen Thomas Drive, Rt 98, Clarksburg, from 4-7 PM Wednesday. Military graveside services will be held on Thursday, July 11, 2013 at 1:00PM from the WV National Cemetery with Reverend Clifton Light officiating, and the Harrison County and the Army Honor Guard.
