Obituary
Harold David Dwane Mayfield, Jr., 32, of Gypsy, passed away on Thursday, March 10, 2022 at his residence. DJ was born on August 11, 1989 in Lenoir, NC to the late Harold David Dwane, Sr. and Karen Mary (Joyce) Mayfield.
DJ was a carpenter by trade. He went to Lincoln High School. He loved his family and had the biggest heart. He was an avid hunter and loved fishing and being in nature.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his Charles “Uncle Bud” Crayton; two aunts: Sheila Crayton-Church of Lenoir, NC and Donna Francine Crayton of Hepzibah, and grandmother, Mary Mobley Mayfield of Gypsy.
DJ is survived by his grandparents, Cactus Dwane Mayfield of Gypsy and Donna Warila of Lenoir, NC; two sisters, Amanda Mayfield of Lenoir, NC and Sarah Bowser of Leominster, MA; one brother, Roger Lee Mayfield of Lenoir, NC; three nieces: Emma Mayfield and Fiona Mayfield-Greene and Lilly Curley; one nephew, David Mayfield of Lenoir, NC and many other family members. Also, he leaves behind his beloved dog “Choppers,” who was always by his side.
In keeping with DJs wishes, he will be cremated. A family & friends gathering will be held on Friday, March 18, 2022 at 3:30pm at the Hepzibah Cemetery. Friends and family are all welcome to share in memories.
