Grace M. Gabriel

Grace Marie Gabriel, 70, of Stonewood, died July 18, 2013 at United Hospital Center. She was born March 19, 1943, at Owings, the daughter of the late Henry Louis Mullenax and Anna Grace Sconish Mullenax. Mrs. Gabriel is survived by her husband, Quentin Gabriel of Stonewood, two sons; Billie Lee Gabriel of Stonewood and Mark Anthony Gabriel of Buckhannon and two daughters, Quinn Carla Allowatt of Clarksburg and Elizabeth Ann Whitehair of Nutter Fort; four grandsons; Seth Todd, Brandon Gabriel, Nicholas Allowatt and Reese Allowatt; five granddaughters; Kacie Paige Barnett, Sydney and Mickaela Todd, Alyssa Allowatt and Stephanie Lantz; four great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews; one sister; Janie Stoker of Owings. She was preceded in death by one brother; Billie Lee Mullenax and two sisters; Bernice Maxine Hestick and Dorothy Watson; one great granddaughter; Olivia Grace Todd. Mrs. Gabriel was a retired secretary from the WV Division of Rehabilitation Services. She also worked for the Federal Housing Administration in Washington, D.C., upon graduation from Shinnston High School. She worked for the City Lines Bus Company in Clarksburg as a secretary and for the Veterans Administration Hospital and as a recorder and clerk for the City of Stonewood for several years. She loved gardening, both vegetables and flowers, watching her birds, crocheting, sewing, reading and doing various projects on her computer. Her family, husband, children and grandchildren were the light of her life. She was a member of Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church in Stonewood.
