Genevieve "Gene" Viola West

Genevieve "Gene" V West, 87 of Morgantown passed away Monday, June 17, 2013 at her residence with family by her side. She was born March 25, 1926 in Masontown, daughter of the late George and Hazel Groves Molisee. Genevieve graduated from Kasson High School. She attended Calvary Baptist Church in Reedsville. She worked at Ruby Memorial Hospital as a station clerk for over 30 years where she was known as "Tiger" and "Jan". Gene loved crossword puzzles, flowers, gardening, canning, and traveling. Gene enjoyed watching the Steelers and Pirates. Surviving are three children, Donna Durham and Jarrett, Pittsburgh, Pam Larew and Bill, Newburg, Sheila Helmick, Masontown; three grandchildren, Stephen Brett Sheets, Nicolette Stevenson and Scott, Tonya Helmick; two great-grandchildren, Laelah, Montana. In addition to her parents, Gene was preceded in death by her husband, Edwin "Bud" West in 1974, one sister, Georgia Cress, one brother, Bernard Molisee; son-in-law, Obie Helmick. Family and friends will be received at Bolyard Funeral Home, 79 Morgantown Ave. Newburg, WV, Thursday, June 20, 2013 from 2-8 pm and Friday, June 21, 2013 from 9 am until time of service at 12 noon with Pastor Terry Hagedorn officiating.
