Freda Jane (Ashmore) Kendall

Freda Jane Kendall, 78, of Shinnston, passed away at UHC in Bridgeport on December 8, 2019 with her family by her side.  She was born in Washington, PA on January 24, 1941, the daughter of the late Andrew Thomas and Anne Mae (Perrino) Ashmore.

Freda was a homemaker and enjoyed cooking for her family.  She also liked bowling and making crafts, especially angels.  Freda attended Charles Street Christian Church and spent any available time that she had volunteering there.  Freda was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother and sister and she will be missed by many.

In addition to her parents Freda was preceded in death by three brothers, Ronald, Richard and James Ashmore; and two sisters, Dolly and Mary Ann Ashmore.

Those left behind to cherish Freda’s memory include her husband who loved her dearly, John Kendall; three daughters, Andrea Skelley and her husband, Joe of Shinnston, Mary Ann Cress and her husband, Bill of Masontown and Diana Aires and her husband, Dean of Aliquippa, PA; two grandsons, Jon Feathers and Ryan Aires; three granddaughters, Julia Pierce, Ashley Bucsko and Erica Aires; three step-granddaughters, Megan, Chelsea and Courtney Cress; two great-grandsons, Jaymz Skelley and Gabryel Bucsko; six great-granddaughters, Hannah Brown, Zayna Bucsko, Kendalyn Pierce, Aleena Pierce, Timber Cress and Alexis Snyder; and one sister, Linda Ashmore of Dayville, Conn.

The family will receive friends at Dorsey Funeral Home 701 South Pike St., Shinnston, WV 26431, on Wednesday, December 11, 2019, from 2:00-8:00pm.  A Funeral Service will be held at Dorsey Funeral Home 701 South Pike St., Shinnston, WV 26431, on Thursday, December 12, 2019 at 11:00am with Pastor Lynn White officiating.  Interment will follow at the Shinnston Memorial Cemetery.
