Everett Eugene Drainer

Everett Eugene Drainer, 74, of Shinnston, passed away at his residence on February 13, 2022.  He was born on April 27, 1947 at home in Reynoldsville, to the late Blaine Drainer and Margie (Sadler) Drainer.

In addition to his parents, Everett is preceded in death by his wife, Delores (Jackson) Drainer.  They married on February 10, 1968.  Also, one son, Joseph Drainer; two brothers:  Bo and Dave Drainer, and two sisters:  Leona Deems and Dorothy Drainer. 

Everett is survived one daughter, Tina Merritt and husband Ronnie of Shinnston; daughter in law, Charlotte Drainer and fiancé Jeff Fornash of Salem; three grandsons:  Matthew Drainer and wife Kassie of Wallace, Tyler Drainer and wife Tori of Lumberport and Dustin Merritt and wife Bridget of Saltwell; two granddaughters:  Kayla O’Dell and husband Carter of Shinnston and Kaitlynn Drainer of Lumberport; one great granddaughter, Matty Drainer; two great grandsons:  Colton Drainer and Luke Merritt and one on the way; several nieces and nephews and companion, Judy Wilfong of Jane Lew.

Everett worked for Union Carbide and retired with 30 years’ service.  He enjoyed dirt track racing, riding his Harley, and loved spending time with family, friends and grandkids.  He was a member of the Fraternal Order of Orioles, Fraternal Order of Eagles of Clarksburg and Loyal Order of Moose of Shinnston, Lodge 929.

Family and friends will be received at Dorsey Funeral Home, 701 S. Pike St., Shinnston, on Thursday, February 17, 2022 from 2:00pm to 8:00pm.  Inurnment and service will be held at a later date at Shinnston Memorial Cemetery.
