Douglas Leo Jones

Douglas Leo Jones (75) of Meadowbrook, WV, passed away on June 20, 2018 at Fairmont General Hospital in Fairmont, WV.

Douglas was born March 28, 1943 in Gyspy, WV the son of the late Atha Wilber and Beulah (Fitzwater) Jones.

Douglas attended Shinnston High School where he played on the football team, after graduation he proudly served in the United States Air Force during the Vietnam War, after his service to his country Douglas worked for Lockheed Martin as a Parts Inspector for 25 years until his retirement. He enjoyed the outdoors planting flowers and going for walks, and most of all spending time with his family especially his grandchildren.

In addition to his parents Douglas was preceded in death by four bothers Richard “Mickey” Jones, Neil Jones, Fredrick Jones, and Donald Lee Jones, one sister Patricia “Patty” Brookover, and two infant brothers.

Those Douglas leaves behind to cherish his memory include: his wife Crystal (Edgell) Jones, four sons Richard Jones of Clarksburg, WV, Joseph Michael Jones of Flemington, WV, Charles Ramsey of Clarksburg, Joseph Ramsey of Meadowbrook, WV, four daughters Linda Lee Jones of Fairmont, WV, Deana Yeager and husband Clarence of Meadowbrook, WV, Ada Ramsey of Shinnston, WV, Tiffany Aiello and husband Mike of Meadowbrook, WV, his brother Sherwood Jones and wife Joey of Hutchinson, WV, three sisters Carol Oliveto of Lumberport, WV, Joyce Parrish of Clarksburg, WV and Irene Bradley of GA., and several grandchildren, nephews and nieces.   

In lieu of flowers family asks that donations be made in Douglas’s name to Dorsey Funeral Home.

The family will receive friends at Dorsey Funeral Home, 701 South Pike St., Shinnston, WV 26431, on Tuesday, July 3, 2018 from 11:00am - 1:00pm until time of funeral service at 1:00pm with Pastor Delores White officiating and full Military Honors accorded by the Harrison County Honor Guard and the United States Air Force.  Interment will be at WV National Cemetery, Grafton, WV.
