Denise Marie (Perry) Blackwell

Denise Marie (Perry) Blackwell, 67, of Bridgeport, passed away on Wednesday, December 15, 2021 at United Hospital Center.  She was born December 8, 1954 in Miami, FL to the late Clarence Richard “Dick” Perry and Doris Leah (Eby) Perry.

Denise worked as a cashier at Wal Mart in Clarksburg for 23 years and also worked in bookkeeping at First National Bank in Fairmont for 7 years.  She was a loving and caring wife who cared for her husband and family.  She loved the Lord and read her daily scripture every day. She loved animals, travelling and especially loved her Wal Mart coworkers.  

Denise is survived by her husband, Douglas Blackwell of Bridgeport; daughter, Michelle Blackwell of Worthington; son, Eric Blackwell and wife Katie of Shinnston; two granddaughters, Isabelle Blackwell and Emily DeBorde; grandson, Eli Blackwell; two sisters, Debra Perry of Madison, WI and Diane Martin and husband Fred of Fairmont; brother, Douglas Perry and wife Sylvia of Royersford, PA as well as many nieces and nephews. 

Private services will be held on Tuesday, December 21, 2021 at Dorsey Funeral Home, 701 S. Pike St., Shinnston, WV.  Graveside services will follow at 11:00am for family and friends at Shinnston Memorial Cemetery with Pastor Charles Madaus officiating.
