David Lee Knotts

David L Knotts, 76, of Clarksburg passed away Wednesday, June 19, 2013 at United Hospital Center following an extended illness. He was born in Barbour County; on April 13, 1937 the son of the late Jasper William Knotts and Agnes Belle Vanscoy Knotts. He is survived by his wife of 11 years Wanda Knotts whom he married June 30, 2001. In addition to his wife he is survived by one Son David Lee Spanks and wife Jennifer of North View; five daughters Charlene Spanks of Haywood; Samantha Jenkins and Husband Shannon of Rockingham, NC; Angel Knotts of Salem; several Grandchildren; Nieces and Nephews. One brother Kevin "Bud" Knotts wife Lisa of Rockford IL; four sisters, Donna Cain husband Raymond of East View; Jean McCloy husband Rod of Clarksburg; Rose Long husband Rusty of IL; Linda Knotts of MtClare; brother in law Tom Tucker wife Glenda of Lumberport; sister in law Katheryn Lane husband Glen of Lumberport; Patricia Wolfe husband Raymond of Burke VA. Special thanks to Karen and Paul Norris, David's caregivers. He was preceded in death by three brothers; Delbert, William, and Tony Knotts; three sisters; Emma Davis; Charlene Knotts; Clair Kerns; one grandson. He was a taxi drive for Toms Taxi for 30 years, attended House of Faith, and was a United States Army veteran. In lieu of flowers family requests monetary donation to be made to Dorsey Funeral Home in David's Memory. Family and friends will be received at Dorsey Funeral Home, 701 S. Pike St., Shinnston, from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm, Monday June 24, 2013, funeral service will be held Tuesday June 25, 2013 at 11:00 am with Pastor Deloris White officiating.
