Obituary
Clarence Wesley “Sonny” Carpenter, 71, of Clarksburg, passed away on Monday, January 24, 2022 at United Hospital Center. He was born in Clarksburg at St. Mary’s Hospital on March 9, 1950, son of the late William Thomas Carpenter and Ruby Kathleen (Grady) Carpenter.
Sonny was self-employed as a handyman and did lawncare. He was an avid hunter, fisherman and loved camping and the outdoors.
He is survived by one brother, William Carpenter and wife Mary of Hopewell, VA; one sister, Ruby Kathleen Carpenter of Clarksburg; two nieces: Kathleen Gerrard and husband Bernard of Hepzibah, Debbie White and husband Clifford of Spelter and several great nieces and nephews.
A special “thank you” from the family to Kathleen Gerrard and Debbie White for the special care they provided their uncle.
Sonny was raised and lived his life in the Glenwood Hill community. His friends and neighbors will miss him greatly.
In keeping with Clarence’s wishes, he will be cremated with no services.
