Betty L Mitter, 79 of Newburg passed away Saturday, June 15, 2013 at her son residence with family by her side. She was born in October 2, 1933 in Fellowsville, daughter of the late George John and Ella Ades Criss Bolyard. Betty graduated from Fellowsville High School, worked as a cook at Newburg Jr. High School for 16 years and retired in June 1995. She was a member of the Newburg Senior Center and Citizens, Ladies VFW Auxiliary #2345 of Tunnelton, American Association of Retired Persons, WV and Preston County Association of Retired School Employees. Betty was Methodist by faith. Surviving are three sons, Eugene Francis Mitter and Dorsey, Masontown, Brian Kay Mitter and Georgianna, Masontown, Aaron Lee Mitter and Virginia, Newburg; ten grandchildren's, Jennifer, Daniel, Dustin, Jeremy, Christina, Brandon, Michael, Cody, Aaron Jr, and Crystal; two step-grandchildren, Frank Owens and Charity, Laurel Owens; three great-grandchildren, Dawn Marie Mitter, Autumn Nicole Mitter, Aaron Lee Mitter III; four step-great grandchildren, Jason Nice, Hunter Sherwood, Brayden Owens and Elliott James Soffos; one daughter-in-law, Jerri Lynn Mitter, several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, Betty was preceded in death by her husband, Earl Francis Mitter in 1971, one son, Clyde Earl Mitter, four brothers, Lester, Raymond, Lewis and Clyde Bolyard, one sister, Gladys Evans. Family and friends will be received at Bolyard Funeral Home, 79 Morgantown Ave. Newburg, WV, Monday, June 17, 2013 from 5-8 pm, and Tuesday, June 18, 2013 from 2-8 pm and Wednesday 9 am until time of service at 1pm with Pastor Sonny McNear and Pastor Carl Trickett officiating.
