Betty Lee Boylen, 80 years young, passed away June 25, 2013 at the CAMC in Charleston, WV due to complications from open-heart surgery. She was born November 23, 1932.
Betty was the daughter of Emerson Wilson Boyce and Iva Purkey Boyce. She retired from Grafton Apparel Mfg. After retirement she enjoyed cooking, gardening, crafts and many other activities. She loved going to the beach with her friends and family, most of all, spending time with her children and grandchildren.
She leaves behind her husband, Russell M. Boylen, one son, Gary M. Boylen and two daughters, Debbie K. Laux and Joyce E. Henderson. She had four grandchildren, Heather Laux, Mindi Miller and her husband Josh, Megan Howdyshell and her husband Cody, and Zachary Henderson. Also she had two great grandsons, Christopher Alexander Eskridge and Jordan Jackson Eskridge. She had two step-great grandchildren, Brett and Breanna Miller.
She is also survived by her four siblings, Olive Bollinger, Patricia Moats, JoAnn Tucker and Robert Boyce. Preceding her in death was her mother and father, three sisters, Gladys McVicker, Rebecca Bavely, Ida Moyer, and her brother Albert Boyce, and one son-in-law, Randy Laux. Her family will receive friends at Bartlett Funeral Home, 202 McGraw Ave, Grafton, Thursday, June 27, 2013 at the funeral home. Funeral services will be conducted at 11 AM, Friday, June 28, 2013 with Pastor George Freeman officiating. Interment will follow at the West Virginia National Cemetery where her body will rest until the trumpet sounds. The family would like to express their thanks for the love and kindness that has been poured out. They ask you to remember that at the "Midnight Cry" we will be going Home.
