Antonio Cruz-Toryak Obituary

Antonio Cruz-Toryak, 25 of Clarksburg passed away unexpectedly on August 22, 2020. Antonio was born December 13, 1994 in Clarksburg, WV, the son of Jose Cruz and Jennifer Toryak-Smith.  Antonio was a special loving and caring young man who had a heart of gold and would do anything to help others. He enjoyed lifting weights and would sometimes return to the gym more than once per day, but only after he had a chance to clean his pride and joy (his shiny Mazda). Antonio enjoyed cooking and many times he would come into the house saying, “I’ve bought some food, and I’m going to cook for you”. He also enjoyed camping and loved amusement parks and the challenge of riding the largest ride there. As a family we would all go to the beach, and we have so many pleasant, loving memories of all the fun times we shared with him. God has blessed us with you in our lives, you were a wonderful young man who has left us way to early and will be so greatly missed. You will always be our “special angel” and will always be with us in spirit. Antonio came from a loving family and as he would leave us, he would always say, “Love you”. As a family today, as always, we will say, “Love you too, Antonio”.  In addition to his parents Antonio is survived by three sisters Madison Smith of Clarksburg, Angelina and Ambriella Cruz-America of Fairmont, one brother Landis Smith of Clarksburg, step-father Landis Smith of Clarksburg, maternal grandparents Bill Watson (God Father) of Bridgeport, Pamela Toryak of Clarksburg, paternal grandmother Carmen Lancaster of North Carolina, paternal grandparents Earl and Jo Smith of Hawaii, maternal great grandmother; Virginia Wright of Clarksburg, God mother Joyce Rabanal of Clarksburg and several nieces and nephews.

Antonio is proceeded in death by his maternal great-grandpa Lawrence Wright, paternal grandfather Freddy Cruz and maternal uncle Anthony “Dodi” Spagnuolo.

Family will receive friends at Dorsey Funeral Home 701 South Pike Street, Shinnston, WV on Saturday, August 29, 2020 from 2-7PM, time of service with Pastor Bob Bright officiating.
