It is with great sadness and heavy hearts that we announce that on Tuesday, August 13, 2019 at 4:10am, Susan Jane (Templeton) Ketterman was called home to be with the Lord. She passed away peacefully at home following a lengthy battle with COPD and Lung Disease. Susan was born on April 27, 1956 to the late John J. Templeton of Stouts Mills and the late Juanita (Burton) Wilson of Enterprise.
In addition to her parents, Sue was preceded in death by one sister, Carolyn June Templeton.
Those left behind to cherish Susan’s memory are her husband, Ray Donald Ketterman, Jr. of Pine Bluff; two sons, Ray Ketterman and his wife, Lisa of Tallahassee, FL and Jesse Ketterman of St. Mary’s; one daughter, Christian Goad and her husband, Jason of Shinnston; two brothers, Dr. John Templeton and his wife, Lisa of Triadelphia, WV and Tim Templeton and his wife, Laura of Enterprise.
She will also be dearly missed by her three grandchildren, Dawn Weaver of Hepzibah and Joshua & Jacob Goad of Shinnston; one great-grandson, Dean; two brothers-in-law, Paul “Ditch” Harclerode and his wife, Karen of Shinnston and Willie Ketterman of Viropa; one sister-in-law, Pamela Petrowski and her husband, Scott of Virginia; and several nieces and nephews.
Sue was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother and sister. She had a zest for life! Sue loved children, animals and making people laugh. She was a friend to all and could always be counted on to lend an ear to anyone in a time of need. She had a kind and compassionate soul and would offer any advice that she had to try and help someone. Above all Susan loved her family and enjoyed cooking large meals and spending time “visiting” with them. Sue was a Methodist by faith and believed that there was nothing to fear in the “here after” and even though she will be missed so much, we know that she is home.
The family will receive friends at Dorsey Funeral Home, 701 South Pike Street; Shinnston, WV 26431 on Saturday, August 17, 2019 from 2:00 pm until the time of the Funeral Service at 6:00 pm with Pastor Jonathon Collins officiating.
