Richard Michael Jones

Richard “Mickey” Michael Jones (87) of Gypsy WV, passed away on June 14, 2018 at the Bridgeport Health Care Center in Bridgeport, WV.

Mickey was born February 8, 1931 in Barbour County, WV the son of the Late Atha Wilber and Beulah (Fitzwater) Jones.

Mickey proudly served in the United States Army during the Korean War after his service to his country Mickey worked for the Division of Highways until his retirement. He was a member of the VFW of Shinnston, WV and the Loyal Order of Moose in Shinnston, WV.  He enjoyed working outdoors, hanging out at Woody Maley’s garage and spending time with his family.

In addition to his parents Mickey was preceded in death by his wife Wanda L. (Moore) Jones in June 2009.

Those Mickey leaves behind to cherish his memory include his daughter Kelly Crandall and husband Michael of Gypsy, WV, three grandchildren Corey Landis, Johnathan Landis and Shayla Sigley and husband Colby, three step-children, Bonnie Ammons and husband Gary of Enterprise, WV, Barbara Kees and husband Darrell of Fairmont, WV and Joyce Cottrill and husband Arnold of OH, three great-grandchildren: Landon Michael Landis, Jace Eric Landis, Remington Ezra Landis, Bentley Ray Landis.

In accordance with Mickey wishes cremation services will be provided and a graveside service and inurnment will be held at the West Virginia National Cemetery Grafton, WV on June 26, 2018 at 1:00pm with Pastor Sabrina Haught officiating and full Military Honors accorded by the Harrison County Honor Guard and the United States Army.  Dorsey Funeral Home is honored to assist the Jones Family.
