Raymond "Ray" Eggleston Obituary

Raymond “Ray” Quinton Alan Eggleston, age 8, of Shinnston, tragically passed away on April 19, 2019 due to a bicycle accident.  He was born December 8, 2010 in Baltimore, MD to Raymond William Eggleston and Jami Suzanne Sampson.

Raymond was taken care of by his grandmother, Regina Rector and attended Big Elm Elementary School.  Ray was a boy full of life.  He had an unforgettable laugh and never entered a room unnoticed.  He loved to be the center of attention, making everyone laugh but especially loved to have his picture taken.  Raymond was adored for his humorous personality and his beautiful curly hair.

Raymond was a little daredevil, not afraid of anything.  He was fascinated with bugs, critters and outside adventures.  He was always curious about everything and had lots to say.  Ray was an intelligent young boy and tried to do everything to perfection.  He loved wrestling with his older brother, Marcus, spending time with his sister, Amara and longed to visit his brother, Cassius in Maryland.

Ray always talked about when he “grew up”, he wanted a good job so he could buy everyone he loved new homes.  He was always very sweet and had a huge heart.  Raymond touched the hearts of many and will be greatly missed by family and friends.  He is now in good hands with God, forever.

Those who were waiting on Raymond in heaven were his grandmother, Ruth Leach; two uncles, Jerry Leach and Jack Sandy; and his two cousins, Crissy Leach and Amy Sampson.

Those left behind to cherish Raymond’s memory besides his parents, Raymond Eggleston and Jami Sampson,  are his grandmother, Regina Rector of Shinnston; two brothers, Marcus Rucker of Shinnston and Cassius Sampson of Maryland; one sister, Amara Mason of Worthington; maternal grandparents, Jeffrey Sampson and companion, Wendy Lattea of Pine Bluff and Diana Sampson of Lamberts Run; maternal step-father, Steve McGahagan of Glen Burnie, MD; great-grandparents, Barbara and Bill Wright of Shinnston and Nunny and Pap Sampson of Lumberport; four uncles, Jason & Jeffrey Sampson and Josh & Joey Rucker; three aunts, Lacy, Pearl and Maddie Sampson; and several other uncles, aunts and numerous cousins.
