Okey Leroy Hall, 70 of Shinnston, WV, passed away peacefully with his loving wife by his side on Tuesday June 4, 2019 at United Hospital Center in Bridgeport, WV, due to complications of a stroke he suffered while on vacation in Florida.

Okey was born on December 16, 1948, in Clarksburg, the youngest son of the late Layman “Bill” Matthew and Marjorie Merle (Lipscomb) Hall.

He then attended Wheeling Barber College and upon graduation he enlisted in the United States Navy and was assigned to the Beach Master Unit Two during the Vietnam Era. While stationed in Norfolk, VA, where he met and married the love of his life, Nancy Ann (Wendt) Hall. They were blessed with forty-seven years together. Okey worked as a Coal Miner for Consol Coal Company and retired after thirty-seven years.  He was a member of the UMWA Local 1501 and the America Legion Post 31.

Okey always kept busy working on something. He enjoyed being outdoors, hunting, fishing, gardening, running his John Deer tractor on his property, traveling adventures and spending time with his family.  He was a devoted and loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, son and friend. He will be deeply missed by all that loved him.

In addition to his parents Okey was preceded in death by his in-laws, John and Millie Wendt; his brothers Ralph Hall, Wayne Hall, James “Olen” Hall and Larry Hall; brother-in laws, Mark Wendt and James Palmer; and sister-in-law, Margaret Hall.
