Mary Jane (Cassady) Stutler

Mary Jane Stutler, 96, of Shinnston, passed away at her home on February 25, 2019.  She was born in Tunnelton, WV on September 9, 1922, the daughter of the late John Hoy and Minnie (Shahan) Cassady.

Mary was a homemaker, member of the Charles Street Christian Church (68yrs) CWF, The Shinnston Garden Club and the Senior Citizens.

In addition to her parents Mary was preceded in death by her husband, Denzil F. Stutler; one daughter, Judith Diane; one brother, Junior Rankin Cassady; three sisters, Betty Lou Cassady, Vivian Chaffins and Leda Brown; three brothers-in-law, James Brown, Roy Kerns and Clyde Chaffins; and one grandson-in-law, John Miller.

Those left behind to cherish Mary’s memory include her two sons, William Stutler and his wife, Sharon and Ronald Stuttler and his wife, Diane all of Shinnston; one daughter, Janet Anderson and her husband, Roger of Shinnston; five granddaughters, Micayla Ash and her husband, Carl of Shinnston, Denise Lutz and her husband, Stephen of Findlay, OH, Rebecca Miller of Shinnston, Melissa Garrison and her husband, Jerry of Four States and Amanda Lanham of Shinnston; one grandson, Brian Stuttler and his wife, Donna of Lockport, NY; eight great-granddaughters, Kelsey Woods and her husband, Michael, Analese and Mattea Lutz, Laura Stuttler, Jenna Garrison, Jessica Ammons and her husband, Jeremy and Alyssa Lanham; three great-grandsons, Matthew Stuttler and his wife, Emily, Jeremy Garrison, Riley and Jakeb Lanham;  two great-great-grandchildren, Cora & Jake Ammons; one brother, Ray Cassady and his wife, Genecy of Flowery Branch, GA; three sisters, Nancy Kerns of Clarksburg, Rosalee Phillips and her husband, Mark of Canton, Oh and Carolyn Grunwald and her husband, Bruce of Coldwater, MI; one sister-in-law Pat Gwinn of Beckley, WV,  and many nieces, nephews and close friends.

The family will receive friends at Dorsey Funeral Home 701 South Pike St., Shinnston, WV 26431, on Thursday, February 28, 2019, from 3:00-8:00pm and again on Friday, March 1, 2019, from 10:00am until the time of service at 1:00pm with Pastor Lynn White and Chaplain Brian Stuttler officiating.  Interment will follow at the Shinnston Memorial Cemetery.
