Lincoln “Buster” Lafayette Beatty (82) of Hepzibah, WV, passed away on January 6, 2018 at United Hospital Center in Bridgeport, WV.
Buster was born November 17, 1935 in Nutter Fort, WV, the son of the late Roy Clifford Beatty Sr. and Nora Bell (Malcomb) Beatty.
Buster was a Veteran of the US Army serving as a Military Policeman during the Korean War. After his service Buster married Loretta Irene Carr on January 20, 1958. He worked as a mechanic for General Motors in Washington, DC and Western Auto in Maryland. He was a driver for Pony Express in Charleston, WV and the owner of Beatty's Market in Hepzibah, WV. He was Baptist by faith and attended the Hepzibah Baptist Church. Buster enjoyed cooking, baking, traveling, hunting and fishing.
In addition to his parents Buster was preceded in death by two brothers Roy Clifford Beatty Jr. and Robert Eugene Beatty.
Those left behind to cherish his memory include: His wife Loretta Beatty, one son Virgil L. Beatty and wife Melissa, one granddaughter Becca S. Beatty, one grandson Nicholas R. Beatty all of Hepzibah, WV, two brothers: Claude G. Beatty and wife Annette of Eureka Springs, AR, Gary L. Beatty and wife Cheryl of Hepzibah, WV, sister-in-law Catherine Beatty of Clarksburg, WV and several nephews and nieces.
The family will receive friends at Dorsey Funeral Home 701 South Pike St., Shinnston, WV. 26431 on Tuesday January 9, 2018 from 2:00pm-8:00pm Funeral Services will be held at Dorsey Funeral Home on Wednesday January 10, 2018 at 11:00am with Pastor Todd Jarman and Gary Carr presiding. Interment will be at Shinnston Memorial Cemetery, Military honors will be accorded by the US Army and the Harrison County Honor Guard.
