Jeffery Alan Sowers

Jeffery “Jeff” Alan Sowers (51) of Gypsy Hill in Shinnston, WV, passed away on Saturday Feb 24, 2018 at the Louis A. Johnson VA Medical Center in Clarksburg, WV, where he was peacefully surrounded by his family. He was born March 5, 1966 in Clarksburg, WV the son of Melvin Merl and the late Leona Belle (Holt) Sowers (deceased 2002.)

Jeff proudly served in the US Army. He attended Horizons Church with his family in Lost Creek, WV. He was very involved with the Shinnston Spartans football and Jerry West Basketball. Jeff loved to go hunting, and fishing with his family and friends.

 Those left behind to cherish his memory are his father Melvin Sowers of Enterprise, WV, two sons Travis Sowers and Tyler Sowers and fiancée Megan Tucker, all of Shinnston, WV, one daughter Shandon Salmon and husband Shane, grandchildren Avery, Jaylin and Jaxson Salmon all of UT, one brother Danny Sowers and wife Julie of Shinnston, WV, one sister Dusty Willis and husband Tom of Enterprise, WV, fiancée of seven years Amanda Herrod her children: Katie, Nathan, Zachary and Andy, nephew Josh McNemar and niece Megan McNemar and fiancé Zach Utter of Enterprise, WV.

The family will receive friends at Dorsey Funeral Home, 701 South Pike St., Shinnston, WV 26431, on Wednesday, February 28, 2018, from 6:00pm-8:00pm at second visitation and Funeral Services will be held at Dorsey Funeral Home on Thursday, March 1, 2018, at 9:00am -11:00am time of service with Dr. Alfray Thomas Jr. officiating. Interment will be at Lumberport Lions Club Cemetery, Lumberport, WV. Military Rights accorded by the US Army and the Harrison County Honor Guard.
