Geraldine Rose (Bramer) Edgell

Geraldine Rose Edgell, 79, of Smithfield, passed away at UHC in Bridgeport, WV on March 5, 2019.  She was born in Reynoldsville, WV on June 24, 1939, the daughter of the late Wayman Earl and Hattie Blanche (Shaver) Bramer.

Geraldine was a graduate of Wallace High School and the last surviving member of her family of 11 children.  Mrs. Edgell was a homemaker and a member of The Lighthouse Church of God in Smithfield.  She loved the Lord and her church family.  Geraldine also enjoyed cooking and helping her neighbors.

In addition to her parents Geraldine was preceded in death by her husband of more than 50 years, Clifford Dwight Edgell; four brothers, Robert Warren, Buddie Norman, Earl Jr. and George W. Bramer; six sisters, Lorainne Bramer, Vivian Winona Bramer, Velma Bramer, Norma June Bramer, Juanita Walls and Shirley Bramer Ash; and one brother-in-law, Donald E. Ash.

Those left behind to cherish Geraldine’s memory include her daughter, Debra Lynn Edgell of Bridgeport; three nephews, Steve Bramer and his wife, Becky of North Canton, OH, Tommy Ash of Wallace and James L. Walls of Willow Beach; six nieces, Jeanie Ash of Fairmont, Evelyn (Ash) Cutright and her husband, Bob of Bridgeport, Denise Dye of Ohio, Linda Tetrick and her husband, Dave of NC, Cathy Stout of New Martinsville and Rebecca Faul of Connecticut; a special great-nephew, Chris Godfrey, his companion, Hope and their son, Hunter of Wallace; a special great-niece, Antoinette Kunka of Blackstone, VA; and several other great nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends at Dorsey Funeral Home 701 South Pike St., Shinnston, WV 26431, on Sunday, March 10, 2019, from 2:00-8:00pm.  The Funeral Service will be held at Dorsey Funeral Home 701 South Pike St., Shinnston, WV 26431, on Monday, March 11, 2019 at 11:00am with Pastor Keith Swiger officiating.  Interment will follow at the Wallace Lions Cemetery.
