Eula Mae Rhodes, 75, of Shinnston, passed away at J.W. Ruby Memorial in Morgantown on March 6, 2019. She was born in Clarksburg, WV on August 1, 1943, the daughter of the late James Coleman and Ruby Gene (Grimes) Pumphrey.
Eula was a graduate of Victory High School and was a twin to her sister, Beulah. She loved gardening, canning and spending time with her family. Eula also enjoyed working puzzles, cross-stitching and quilting.
In addition to her parents Eula was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Rhodes; and two brothers, Peter Pumphrey and Larry Pumphrey.
Those left behind to cherish Eula’s memory include her three sons, Andrew L. Thomas and his wife, Sabrina of Shinnston, Leslie LeRoy Thomas II of Shinnston and John Matthew Thomas of Ohio; two daughters, Donna Mae Thomas and JoeAnn Miller, both of Shinnston; one grandson, Brian Miller; four granddaughters, Joanna Miller, Morgan Thomas, Miriah Thomas and Morandi Thomas; one step-grandson, Jeremy Rhodes; two step-granddaughters, Josie Rhodes and Renee Rhodes; three great-grandsons, Maxson Koch, Brayden Miller and Randy Turner; one great-granddaughter, Mary Beth Miller; three brothers, Paul Pumphrey and his wife, Karen, James Pumphrey and Charlie Pumphrey all of Shinnston; five sisters, Beulah Sigley of Clarksburg, Bonnie Quinn of Lost Creek, Dora Yeager and her husband, Roger of Lumberport, Juanita Pumphrey of Shinnston and Mary Owens of Shinnston; and several nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends at Dorsey Funeral Home 701 South Pike St., Shinnston, WV 26431, on Monday, March 11, 2019, from 4:00-8:00pm. The Funeral Service will be held at Dorsey Funeral Home 701 South Pike St., Shinnston, WV 26431, on Tuesday, March 12, 2019 at 11:00am with Pastor Jon Hayes officiating. Interment will follow at the Enterprise I.O.O.F. Cemetery.
