Ernest Eugene Maul passed on to his Heavenly Father on March 25, 2019, at UHC in Bridgeport, West Virginia.
Ernest was born March 28, 1927, in Wendell, West Virginia, the son of Otis Glenn and Ethel (White) Maul, both of whom preceded him in death.
He is survived by his wife of more than 70 years, Billie (Rasnick) Maul; one son, Ernest Eugene Maul, Jr. of Clarksburg; one daughter, Teresa Lee Shackleford and her husband, Bernard of Hundred; four grandchildren, Bernard L. Shackleford, II, James N. Shackleford and his wife, Wendy, Adam B. Shackleford and his wife, Billie-Jo and Geoffery E. Maul; ten great-grandchildren, Christopher A. Shackleford, Adam J. Shackleford and his wife, Cassandra, James N. Shackleford, III, Matthew A. Shackleford, Brian L. Shackleford, Hannah E. Shackleford, Rosaline E. Shackleford, Hailey M. Shackleford, Nora W. Shackleford and Bernard L. Shackleford, III; and two great, great-grandchildren, Katherine H. Shackleford and Hunter A. Shackleford.
Ernest spent time serving in the United States Navy during WWII and worked at Consol Energy as a Maintenance Foreman for 20 years. He liked hunting, fishing and listening to the WVU ballgames on the radio. Ernest especially loved woodworking.
In addition to his parents, Ernest was preceded in death by his sisters and their husbands, Audra “Joy” Maul and Thomas Woodcock and L. Madeline Maul and Wilford Johnston.
The family will receive friends at Dorsey Funeral Home, 701 South Pike Street, Shinnston, WV 26431, on Thursday, March 28, 2019 from 1:00PM until the time of Funeral Service at 3:00PM with Pastor Cindy Boggs officiating. Interment will follow at Shinnston Memorial Cemetery.
