Doris Marie (Atwell) Perez

Doris Marie (Atwell) Perez, (62) of Mannington passed away on February 23, 2019 at UHC in Bridgeport, WV. Doris was born on March 16, 1956, the daughter of the late Allen James and Clydie Pauline (McLaughlin) Atwell.

Mrs. Perez was born in Raysal, West Virginia.  She was from a large family and had many loving brothers and sisters.  Doris also had a twin sister, Helen, who died when she was very young. 

Doris was a homemaker and loved to go shopping.  She was also an avid church goer.

In addition to her parents, Doris was preceded in death by her three brothers, Walter B., Billy J. and Eddie G. Atwell; and two sisters, Sharon Atwell and Doris’ twin, Helen Atwell.

Those left behind to cherish Doris’s memory include her husband of more than 30 years, David Perez of Mannington; her four brothers, Charles Atwell, Melvin Atwell and his wife, Levone & Albert Atwell all of Martinsville, Virginia and Cecil Atwell and his wife, Phyllis of Tonica Illinois; three sisters, Mary Perez of Martinsville, VA, Betty Rose of Lexington, NC and Margie Wishnevsky of Northfork, WV; and several nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends at Dorsey Funeral Home, 701 South Pike St., Shinnston, WV 26431, on Thursday, February 28, 2019 from 11:00am until the time of service at 1:00pm with Reverend Jonathon Collins officiating. Entombment will follow at Shinnston Memorial Mausoleum.
