Judith "Judy" Ann (Davis) Tichenor

Judith “Judy” Ann (Davis) Tichenor, beloved wife and mother, 82, of Shinnston, went home to be with her Lord on Thursday, December 1, 2022.  She was born in Clarksburg on January 28, 1940 to the late William Lee Davis and Mary Ellen (Garrett) Davis.

Judy was a completely devoted wife, mother and proud homemaker.  She was a top Avon sales representative for many years, winning several Presidential awards for sales numerous times, and enjoyed the personal interactions with her many customers in her decades-long career.  Judy also enjoyed her time working Saturdays at the United States Post Office in Enterprise, WV for many years, where she was known for her dedication and customer service.  She was a faithful member of the Enterprise United Methodist Church, where she sang in the choir and could be counted on to participate in their fundraising activities, most notably in making apple butter.

Judy was an extremely talented artist, who painted pictures and woodcrafts, and was also a skilled cake decorator.  However, she considered her role as wife and mother to be the most important in her life, giving her all to her family.

Judy is survived by her son, Eric Tichenor and wife Terri of Fairmont; one brother, Guy Davis and wife Elsa of Bridgeport; three sisters:  Joyce Coffey of Lumberport, Brenda Stark and husband Don of Shinnston and Kim Nay and husband Joe of Sommersville, AL; one sister in law, Carolyne Davis as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Leslie “Skip” Eugene Tichenor and one brother, Richard “Rick” Davis.

Family and friends will be received at Dorsey Funeral Home, 701 S. Pike St., Shinnston, on Tuesday, December 6, 2022 from 4:00pm until time of service, 7:00pm, with Pastor Craig Blankenship officiating. In keeping with Judy’s wishes, she will be cremated and inurnment will be at WV National Cemetery, with her husband, Skip, at a later date.
