Linda Shanholtz Obituary

Linda Joy Shanholtz, 70, of Shinnston, passed away at UHC on October 30, 2019 after courageously succumbing to her 20 year battle with Non-Hodgkin’s Lymphoma.  She was born at Camp Pendleton U.S.M.C. base in Oceanside, CA on April 23, 1949, the daughter of the late Neal and Leila (Wallace) Fuller.

Those left behind to cherish Linda’s memory include the love of her life, Michael “Mike” Shanholtz; three sons, Lindsey Siglinger of Shinnston, Clifford Siglinger and his wife, Darla also of Shinnston and Anthony “Tony” Siglinger of Ohio; one granddaughter, Makenzie Berg; three brothers, Richard Fuller and his wife, Sandra, Robert Fuller and his wife, Sally all of Colorado and David Fuller and his wife, Sue of Nevada; three sisters, Mari Burns and her husband, Mike of Illinois, Nora Haag and her husband, Roger of Colorado and her sister and best friend, Brenda Wendel; and her beloved fur kids, Bengi, Sam, Ben and Maggie.

Linda and her family moved back to Greeley, CO in 1961 after her father retired from the United States Marine Corp with 22 years of service.  Linda attended the Greeley schools graduating from West High where because she had such a beautiful singing voice, she loved to sing and act in the school plays. Her favorite play was The Sound of Music.  Linda then spent years traveling and living in many different states.  She also lived in Germany for a while where her first son was born.

More recently, Linda was a Deli Manager at Super America.  She also worked at the Mountain State Auto Auction and Dairy Mart.  Linda was a lover of animals and admired all wildlife around her.  She was passionate about preventing the mistreatment of animals and was an avid member of the American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty of Animals (ASPCA).

Linda loved gardening and could grow an amazing vegetable garden.  She also loved to collect frogs and watching movies.  Linda was a wonderful wife, sister, mother and grandmother and will be truly missed by many.

Per Linda’s request, cremation services will be provided.  A Celebration of Life for Linda will be held at a later date.  In lieu of flowers, the family is asking that you consider a charitable donation to be made to the Harrison County Humane Society, 2450 Saltwell Road; Shinnston, WV 26431, in honor of Linda.  Donations can be mailed to P.O.
